Dr. Seuss week...

So, my Mom is a kindergarten teacher and this week all the students will celebrate Dr. Seuss's Birthday.
She teaches right next door, to my Bella, who is also in kindergarten but couldn't have her grandmama ( aka her Gigi) as her teacher, but she is close by and we love that.
On Thursday, a guest reader will come read to my Mom's class, it is our very own fabulous "Pebbles" from the radio station, JAMN 94.5!!!!
We LOVE Pebbles and can't wait to see her this Thursday.
My Mama asked me to draw a little something in honor of Dr. Seuss on her portable chalk board. Imagine, the classes no longer have chalkboards at our schools...it's all about the "smart boards."
Here is my mom's portable chalkboard, aka Mrs. Webb's chalkboard.
I drew a quick drawing of Cat in the Hat for her class.
Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss!!!
Ok, so he looks a little angry, I tried...lol!
My kids and I always enjoy a Dr. Seuss book, some of our favorites are:
And here is sweet Pebbles, when she read to my mom's class in December, she actually brought along "The Lorax" ,as well as read many great books to the kids, they were super excited!!!  Right behind "The Lorax's" head is the smart board, which is what replaced the beloved chalkboards. Although, Mama keeps a cute little easel for the kids to use at center time.

Thank you, Pebbles!!! We Love You!!!

11 RANDOM THANGS

There are five rules:
1. Post these rules.
2. Post a photo of yourself and 11 random things.
3. Answer the questions set for you in the original post.
4. Create 11 new questions and tag people to answer them.
5. Go to their blog/twitter and tell them you've tagged them.

11 Random Thangs:

1.)  I love the bakery up the street from my mom's house, it has the best strawberry shortcake and I just had a huge piece of it and it was a little slice of heaven on a Sunday afternoon(:

2.) The smell of Modge Podge reminds me of the chlorine in a public pool and I kind of like it.

3.)  Bella told me today she doesn't want boobs when she grows up, her exact words: "I don't need them."

4.) Along with the night of the Oscar Awards, I believe there should be a night broadcasted of  the "Hero" Awards, which would honor and celebrate real people who do extraordinary things everyday of their lives ( our troops, teachers, anybody who inspires in life)...now that would be a show worth watching.

5.) Mya's paws smell like warm dorito's and i love the way they smell.

9.) Every night Maxwell asks me to sing him the song "moon moon moon" when I tuck him in. It's a song by Laurie Berkner and it goes like this:
"moon, moon, moon, shining bright, moon, moon, moon, my night light....click ~ turn it on....moon, moon, moon, i can see....moon, moon, moon, you're taking care of me....look up it's the moon, look up it's the moon, up in the sky...it's big and round and i have found that it looks just like a pizza pie."

10.) There are 2 special little people in this whole wide world who think my singing voice sounds beautiful and those special souls are my daughter, Bella (6) and son, Maxwell (8). My oldest son used to think so too until he turned 12, now he leaves the room when I sing ):

11.) I'm still very sad that Whitney Houston passed away, my heart breaks for her daughter, to me it's unimaginable how she is getting through each day and I really was so hopeful that Whitney had beat the addiction this time around and am very much looking forward to seeing her final movie, Sparkle, coming out this August. RIP Whitney,  love you.

"Go Donny Go, Go!"

So Bella is a Daisy Scout, which is a beginner "Brownie" in the Girl Scouts world  and we like to sing our own anthem for Girl Scouts: "Who Runs The World? Girls!" (We <3 Beyonce!!!)
And back in the fall, before I even knew she'd be rocking and rollin as a Daisy Scout girl, I found this super cute 50's dress at TJ MAX for a whopping' 5 dollars!!! "Make ya holla!" and it sure did make me HOLLA! I just couldn't pass it up because I knew Bella would just like wearing it to dress up in...
Now I am so super glad I picked it up and put it in my carriage because in March, Bella and all the Girl Scouts will be attending a 50's Sock Hop and guess who is dj-ing this big bash??? Your's truly, me and Bella's Daddy ( aka Big Daddy), so we are searching iTunes for some sweet 50's jams.
Big Daddy asked if "Go Johny Go" was a 50's jam and sure enough it is...
1959 to be exact.
I love to get my husband, (aka Big Daddy..aka Donny)  in the spirit for this 50's sock hop, because right now, he doesn't seem as enthusiastic as I'd like him to be about doing this,  so I am just going to change the words to "Go Donny Go, GO!"   And sing it to him all the way up until March 10th!!!
Now that will get him pumped...LMFAO!
Please, block out all clutter in the background and appreciate the $5.00 ~ 1950's dress that Bella is rocking! Fan and hair piece also included(:

SCHOOL VACATION WEEK and ME!

Fun times, we are on February vacation week!!! WooooWhoooooo!
A week of no rushing in the mornings, no school night bedtimes, no getting 3 outfits out the night before!
But yes to: sleeping in, staying up extra late watching movies ( last night we watched A Dolphin Tale) and playing, and having fun little day trips!!
Like yesterday we headed to Bonkers, which is a fun place for the kids, slides, mazes, rides, skee-ball, games, prizes, all that good stuff that lights up a kids world!!!
Today is Skyzone for Jordan, a dodgeball trampoline place with his buddies. And for me and the little ones: lunch of their choice and a park of their choice.
Tomorrow is a trip into to Boston to see Disney On Ice Princess Show for Daddy, Max, Bella and me!!!
How lucky these little love bugs are(:
How I wish I could remodel this blog, I don't like how it looks but it's such a little world, this is really like my journal on line.  It's not read by many or any..lol and I don't update it as much as I'd like too but when I look back on all the posts in the past years, I am glad I posted because it takes me back to those great times and I am glad I have them documented for me.
This really is just a little place for me to go and write and express and type out memories and things that matter.
That matter to me. It's always about my kids and I have to remind myself that I need to take a little time for me...
A time-out for me.
So here's a little about me: I am a shy girl,
I don't like to be the center of attention but I don't want to be treated like I am invisible either,
I love to read and be creative, my favorite places to be are in Target, Michaels Craft and TJ Maxxx,
I love to hang out with my kids, especially all snuggled up on the couch, watching a good movie with a big ol bowl of popcorn!
I love to walk my Mya girl, with my iPod on. Just to walk and think and move, it's so good for us!
I don't like mean condescending peeps and I try to only to be around peeps who are kind and uplifting, no negative energy is welcome.
I love hugs, Mac makeup ~ especially their lip glosses, taking pictures, reading books and a good nap on a Saturday afternoon, yes I love to sleep!
I love to dance!
I love to roller-skate or "roll out" as my friend Jenny and I call it, cause when my little guy Jordan (who is now 12) was a baby, we would roller-skate every Sunday at Rollerworld, it was the best kind of exercise, with the music pumping and the disco ball shining down on us. We don't get there these days but gosh did we love "Rollin out" back in the days!!!
The kids really want to get to the park right this minute, so to be continued......

Whitney Houston

I grew up listening to Whitney. Her's was the first concert I ever went to at the Boston Commons, with my Mom and cousin. I was 10.  My mom got me "The Greatest Love of All"  and  "I Wanna Dance With Somebody Who Loves Me" tape cassettes.  I was so excited. Played those tapes over and over in my room. Always wished I could sing like her, so when I sang along, my awful voice blended in with her amazing voice and made me sound a little bit better (:

Saw all her movies, The Bodyguard, The Preacher's Wife, Waiting To Exhale and watched her rise and fall in the public eye.  Saw Bobby Brown become the love of her life and one of the biggest devils in her life.   Now her daughter has to go on without her mother.  That is the most heartbreaking of it all.
I believe this is her little girl's voice in this song "My Love Is Your Love" and I am pretty sure this song is for her baby girl, Bobbi Kristina.

  "Clap your hands now baby."
Clap your hands for Whitney Houston.
She battled addictions, as we all do but her's a very public battle. Aside from her addictions, she was a Mother, a Daughter, a child of God and through it all, she always knew Jesus loved her and now she is with him, in peace. But we will miss her so much here on earth.....

Her voice is like no other and she will live on forever through her music.

words...

Got this sign for my baby girl, who will be getting her very own room within the next year!!! WooooWhoooooo...for 6 years now, we have shared my bedroom.  I have to say, my husband has been such a good sport about it because most nights he falls asleep, snoring on the couch and we are all snug-a-bug in the room, along with our baby girl, Mya ( our 2 year old Boxer/Rhodesian Ridgeback Rescue Baby).
The walls are pink, the room is filled with lots of Lala Loopsy's and Monster High Dolls and we squeezed in an IKEA bunk bed, which she just recently started sleeping in, you know what, I miss her right next to me.  The bed feels so empty and big.
Ok, so I am having a hard time letting go. She is my baby girl and I am so excited for her to have her own room, her own space and it will be super awesome for her.
But I will miss sharing my room with you, Bella Girl (:
So I leave you with these words. I may frame this for all my children. But especially my Bella because it's just tougher being a girl and she will need to be reminded.
And though it maybe too deep for them now, someday they will get it.......

MAX'S RAINFOREST

Here's my little man working hard on his school project, Rainforest Diorama style!
And here is the
finished product:
Very cool and daddy really hooked it up with the amazing waterfall effects.
Max was very excited when he saw that waterfall and loved glueing all the animals into cool places, like the red"tree frog" right on top of the tree.  And he camoflouged the snake up in another tree and the iguana hidden in the grass. Plus his very own snake ( climbing up the mountain) and gorilla made out of claydoh.  I love his precious mind and imagination. He always amazes me.
